Forwardman is a brain child of Helsinki-based singer-songwriter Sakari Viittala. Getting by with a lot of help from good friends, Mr. Viittala has been writing and producing his songs since the dawn of time which explains why first release Ring Up The Curtain EP came out already in March 2014.
On the heels of the EP-release came out a single Twenty-Six in May 2014. Described as "western styled drive pop glow" by Mark Barton (The Sunday Experience, Liverpool, UK) the single and the video were well received by music bloggers in the UK and Finland. Second single Houses preceded the debut album with a music video in October 2014.
Debut album titled This Ain´t No Rocket Science was released 30.1.2015 on all major digital stores. Portrayed as a "a classic alternative-rock collection of songs offering an eclectic album filled with upbeat, catchy tunes and mellow melodies to suit any mood" by a Dublin based Music and Culture focused Pure M Magazine the record received a handful of positive reviews from the media. First radio play came with the song Twenty-Six from Radio Rock, one of the major radio stations in Finland.
Forwardman has been working on a follow up to the debut album ever since. A ten song album has now been recorded, mixed and taken trough the mastering process. More news about the upcoming album are to follow....
